UPDATE: ADD/DROP has been extended to tomorrow Wednesday, October 21. (updated 2008/9/30)
Dear Fellow seniors,
Because super-typhoon Jang-Mi has thwarted our efforts to bring this information session. We have put together a pdf to bring you all of the information that was to be presented.
It is important because the last day to ADD/DROP is on Tuesday, September 30th.
If I have missed anything or you still have questions, please leave a message or comment here and I will try to answer by the end of Monday, September 29th.
I hope everyone is having a safe and joyous Typhoon day.

1. I have 2 courses in HR and 1 in strategy. Can I put them together to be my major courses?
2. Can I choose different topic of my thesis from my major? example: I try to do smoething about marketing in my thesis but my major is HR/Strategic?
Thanks a lot
Greg
Greg, good questions.
To answer them:
1. Yes, it’s possible for the HR/Strategy stream to combine courses for HR & strategy to complete the requirements for elective courses for your major.
2. Yes, it is okay to choose a thesis topic different from your major; Finance Majors can write a HR thesis; Marketing majors can write a HR/Strategy thesis, and so forth.
Thanks J, that’s more clear for me.
And I got one more question. Just want to make sure the course “Business Policy and Strategy” is a core course or an elective? Cause I check 99’s student handbook and it said it’s a core course.
Hello. I am an NCKU student but I live in Taipei. I am now taking 4 courses and when finished this semester I will have 13 courses meaning 2 left which must be the seminar and the methodology course. I have only one course so far from Tainan (Marketing Mgmt). If there is a conflict of schedule is it possible to take only one of the remaining courses in Tainan (ie; seminar)? No one made it clear to me until recently that I need to take 3 courses from Tainan (not sure why). Also if I would like to finish my thesis and graduate next semester when does my thesis need to be completed and approved?
Greg - for your class (batch 98, class of ‘08), Business Policy and Strategy is a core course.
Daniel. The policy for taking 3 courses was instated for this years class (class of 2010). Our class’ students (class of 2009) do not need to take 3 courses in Tainan, although it would be nice to have you around.
For those that have been asking - it is possible to take SBM second semester and graduate on time.
Please keep in mind that you must wait 3 months after the thesis proposal before you can do your final defense.
So to complete your thesis at the end of 2nd semester, you must present your thesis proposal before: March 30
The last date to complete your Final thesis defense is June 30..
Please remember these dates! If not completed by these dates, you will have to pay for the next semester without scholarship. Also, you will not be able to receive a NCKU diploma until the end of Fall semester (January, 2010).
